SCHOOLS SAFEGUARDING TERMS & CONDITIONS

TRAINING:

Our events take place online and in person across a broad range of formats including webinars, conferences, workshops, in school and venue-based training courses, networking events and our annual conference.

When you book a place on any of our physical or online events, you are agreeing to be bound by the following terms and conditions:

  1. Booking and Payment
    1. Booking must be made through admin@schoolssafeguarding.com and bookings are only guaranteed upon your receipt of Schools Safeguarding booking Confirmation or confirmation email.
    2. Invoices will be generated and sent at time of booking.
    3. For events more than 3 months in advance, the invoice will be sent one month before the event date.
    4. Payments must be made within 14 days of the date of the invoice.
    5. Payment can be made by BACS or cheque.
    6. Failure to pay within the allocated time may result in immediate cancellation of training places/courses.
    7. Payment using the wrong payee details will be treated as non-payment and may result in additional charges.
    8. Schools Safeguarding reserve the right to terminate working with a school if prompt payment is not made.
    9. Schools Safeguarding reserve the right to take legal action on any outstanding payments.
    10. Non-payments may incur additional charges.
  1. Cancellations
    1. Courses or places on courses/events may be cancelled or postponed by either party at any point prior to the event taking place.
    2. Where the event or training place can be postponed or transferred at a time mutually convenient, no additional charge will be made.
    3. When an event or course is cancelled by Schools Safeguarding every effort will be made to find a suitable alternative. In the event that this is not possible, the school will have ‘credit’ to use on any other Schools Safeguarding services.
    4. Schools Safeguarding reserve the right to charge for repeatedly cancelled or postponed events or training places, whether or not the training takes place.
    5. Training places can be transferred to colleagues within the same setting (school, college, nursery, academy).

AUDITS / ADVISORY SERVICE:

Schools Safeguarding will undertake an audit of a setting’s safeguarding provision, at the request of School Leader, MAT, LA or other commissioner who has suitable authority to do so. Audits and advisory services normally take place in person, although such services can be provided remotely upon request.

When an audit or other advisory/consultation work is commissioned, the setting and commissioner is agreeing to be bound by the following terms and conditions:

    2. Invoices will be generated and sent at time of booking.

    5. Failure to pay within the allocated time may result in immediate cancellation of all Schools Safeguarding services.
    6. Payment using the wrong payee details will be treated as non-payment and may result in additional charges.

    8. Schools Safeguarding reserve the right to take legal action on any outstanding payments.
    9. Non-payments may incur additional charges.
  1. Cancellations
    1. Audits can be transferred to a new, mutually convenient date by either party up until the date of the audit at no extra charge.
    2. Audits can be cancelled by either party up to 48 hours before the audit at no cost.
    3. Cancellation within 48 hours of the audit by commissioner/school will result in full payment being required. This payment can be used for a rescheduled audit within 3 months of original date. Following this date, all payments will be forfeited.
    4. Schools Safeguarding reserve the right to charge for repeatedly cancelled or postponed audits/visits/meetings, whether or not the session takes place.
    5. Audits cannot be transferred to another organisation.
  1. Miscellaneous
    1. A report will be emailed to the commissioner within 4 weeks of the audit taking place.
    2. Any recommendations made as a result of the audit will incur additional charges. These are optional; costs and timescales will be provided by Schools Safeguarding.
    3. An audit review visit will take place as requested by the school/commissioner. This must be within one year of the initial audit. Any additional visits will incur further costs at Schools Safeguarding Consultancy Rates.
    4. The Audit Review and any further support may not be undertaken by the same adviser as the initial audit.
    5. Audits and support visits out of area (Lancashire) will incur additional charges. These will be quoted at time of booking.

SUPERVISION:

Supervision Packages are undertaken at the request of School Leaders, MAT, LA or other commissioner who has suitable authority to do so. Supervision sessions can take place either face to face or using a remote platform such as Zoom or Teams.

When supervision sessions or package is commissioned, the setting and commissioner is agreeing to be bound by the following terms and conditions:

  1. Booking and Payment
    1. Bookings must be made through admin@schoolssafeguarding.com and bookings are only guaranteed upon your receipt of Schools Safeguarding Booking Confirmation or confirmation email.
    2. Invoices will be generated and sent at time of booking.
    3. Payments must be made within 14 days of the date of the invoice.
    4. Payment can be made by BACS or cheque.
    5. Failure to pay within the allocated time may result in immediate cancellation of all Schools Safeguarding services, including pre-arranged supervision sessions.
    6. Payment using the wrong payee details will be treated as non-payment and may result in additional charges.
    7. Schools Safeguarding reserve the right to terminate working with a school if prompt payment is not made.
    8. Schools Safeguarding reserve the right to take legal action on any outstanding payments.
    9. Non-payments may incur additional charges.
    1. Cancellations
      1. As per the Supervision Agreement, sessions should be prioritised and protected where possible. In exceptional circumstances, supervision sessions can be transferred to a new, mutually convenient date by either party up until the date of the session with no penalties.
      2. If Schools Safeguarding cannot accommodate change of date, a maximum of one session will be ‘carried over’ and therefore extend duration of package by one half term/6 weeks maximum.
      3. Any further sessions cancelled by school will be forfeited.
      4. No refunds will be given if the supervision package is cancelled by school during the duration of the package.
    1. Package Details
      1. Supervision Packages run for a year from the date of the booking.
      2. Supervision sessions are undertaken on a half termly/six weekly basis unless otherwise agreed with consultant or as part of a bespoke package.
      3. Both parties will agree on a mutually convenient format, venue, times, dates, and structure of sessions.
      4. All dates included in the package will be booked at the start of the package unless exceptional circumstances prevent this.
      5. Changes to consultants may be made, without explanation or prior notice, by Schools Safeguarding at any time during the package.
      6. Face to face Supervision Packages out of area (Lancashire) will incur additional charges. These will be quoted at time of booking.
      7. The school contact will be emailed one month before the package is due to end to complete a renewal form. If this is not completed or returned prior to the start of the package, the existing package will automatically be renewed under the same terms.

      SAFEGUARDING SUPPORT LINE:

      The Schools Safeguarding Support Line (known as ‘Support Line’ for remainder of this document) is a service set up to provide school staff with timely support with issues relating to safeguarding and child protection in schools. When registering for the Support Line, you are agreeing to be bound by the following terms and conditions:

      1. Registration and Payment

        1. Registering must be done through admin@schoolssafeguarding.com and registration is only guaranteed upon your receipt of Schools Safeguarding Booking Confirmation or confirmation email.
        2. Invoices will be generated and sent at time of booking.
        3. Payments must be made within 14 days of the date of the invoice.
        4. Payment can be made by BACS or cheque.
        5. Failure to pay within the allocated time may result in immediate cancellation of the Support Line.
        6. Payment using the wrong payee details will be treated as non-payment and may result in additional charges.
        7. Schools Safeguarding reserve the right to terminate working with a school if prompt payment is not made.
        8. Schools Safeguarding reserve the right to take legal action on any outstanding payments.
        9. Non-payments may incur additional charges.
        10. No refunds will be given if the Support Line is cancelled by school during the duration of the registration.
          1. Support Line Details
            1. Registration runs for a year from the date of the booking.
            2. The Support Line can only be accessed by staff (including volunteers and governors) of organisations that have purchased this service via Schools Safeguarding.
            3. The Support Line can be accessed by calling a restricted number on school days during term time between the hours of 8.30am and 4.30pm.
            4. This number MUST not be distributed to any other school or organisation.
            5. Upon receiving a call, the Adviser will check the identity of the caller to verify their school is registered with this service. If not registered then support will not be provided, and the caller will be signposted to other services.
            6. If the Adviser is not available during these hours or is on another call, there is a message facility, and the Adviser will return the call as soon as possible and, in most cases, the same working day.
            7. Messages left outside of these hours will be returned as soon as possible and, in most cases, the following working day.

           

          The Schools Safeguarding Support Line MUST NOT be used as a replacement for statutory referrals to Children’s Social Care or other agencies such as the Police. Where such a referral is required, the Adviser will provide contact information for the relevant agency and the call will be terminated.

          Schools Safeguarding Staff will not make referrals on behalf of callers.

           

          In exceptional circumstances, as deemed by Schools Safeguarding, the above terms and conditions are applied at Schools Safeguarding Director’s discretion.
