Safer Recruitment and Single Central Record Training

Safer Recruitment and Single Central Record Training

KCSIE 23 states: ‘It is vital that as part of their whole school or college approach to safeguarding, governing bodies and proprietors create a culture that safeguards and promotes the welfare of children in their school or college. As part of this culture, it is important that they adopt robust recruitment procedures that deter and prevent people who are unsuitable to work with children from applying for or securing employment, or volunteering opportunities in schools and colleges.’

‘…ensure that those involved with the recruitment and employment of staff to work with children have received appropriate safer recruitment training, the substance of which should at a minimum cover the content of Part Three of KCSIE’

There has been an increased focus on Safer Recruitment over the last couple of years and KCSIE makes it clear that Safer Recruitment is not just about the recruitment process and DBS checks but rather creating a culture of safer recruitment whereby people who are unsuitable to work with children are quickly identified.

This training has been developed with this approach in mind and provides delegates with the knowledge, skills and resources to develop and implement robust and effective safer recruitment processes and systems.
